Be ready to get stuck in a traffic jam on Thursday during the immersion of idols of Lord Ganesha in Delhi. However, Delhi Traffic police have made adequate arrangements in and around the seven ghats of the city. Some congestion is likely to be faced on Wednesday though.

A large number of devotees from all over Delhi will be coming to the ghats — Kudesia Ghat, Geeta Colony Ghat (Gandhi Nagar Pushta), Geeta Ghat, Mayur Vihar Extn Ghat (Near DND Flyover), Hathi Ghat, Kalindi Kunj Ghat, Yamuna Bridge, Vikas Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and Shyam Ghat — for immersion of idols of Lord Ganesha.

Traffic police has advised commuters not to use Saraswati Marg, Faiz Road, Beadon Pura, Copernicus Marg, Sikandara Road, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Wazirabad Road, Ring Road, Mathura Road, Pushta Road, Noida Link Road. These roads are likely to face congestions due to movement of devotees, says Delhi Traffic Police. Devotees must avoid parking their vehicles on the roadsides near the ghats. Only limited parking is available near or at the ghats. Commercial vehicles and buses will not be allowed on various roads.
