Delhi property dealer alleges extortion by Ghaziabad cops

Sayajuddin, a property dealer from Mayur Vihar Phase-III, registered an FIR at Sector 24 on Sunday evening against five cops. In the FIR, he  narrated that on Sunday evening, five cops, including a police constable, who is posted at Loni police station in Ghaziabad, picked him up illegally on betting charges and brought him at sector 12 near Metro hospital and extorted Rs six lakhs from him.

The businessman, after he was released informed a friend in Uttar Pradesh police about the incident, who asked him to contact the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). Sayajuddin immediately, contacted the SSP and narrated his ordeal. SSP Dr Pritinder Singh ordered an inquiry into the matter.

The police have found three cops guilty in the initial investigation and have identified the guilty cops as Nitin, inspector Sharad Malik, and Vivek Sharma, SSI- GIP police post in-charge. It has also recovered the money that was extorted from Sayajuddin. Meanwhile, SSP has ordered the suspension of Mallik and Sharma and has written a letter to Ghaziabad police to take action against Nitin.
