Delhi Police issue challans to over 700 vehicles

On the very first day of enforcing lane driving, the Delhi traffic police have issued challans to over 700 vehicles across the city.

“The drivers were found recklessly violating the rules of lane driving. For hassle-free and smooth driving, they must maintain proper lanes and follow traffic rules,” said Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner (traffic).

“We are also creating awareness among people about driving through designated lanes through social media platforms and by conducting campaigns. We will continue to ensure traffic control in the city and also prosecute drivers, who affect the smooth flow of traffic,” he added. The fine for violating lane driving ranges from Rs 100 to Rs 2,000, depending upon the vehicles.
