Delhi Police create three new senior posts
The concerned ranks will be held by Deepak Mishra, who was so far the Special CP in Law and Order; Vimla Mehra, who was so far the Special CP in administration; and Dharmendra Kumar, who shall be transferred to Delhi from Mizoram. All three of them have been promoted, said a senior police official.
“From now on, the Special Commissioners of each department shall report to the concerned Senior Special Commissioner assigned coordination of their respective departments. And the Senior Special Commissioners shall directly report to the Commissioner of Police, BS Bassi,” said the senior official.
Senior Special CP (Law and Order) shall look into the coordination of Operations, Armed Police, Vigilance, and Legal Cell and Research with the Law and Order department. Senior Special CP (Administration) shall look into the coordination of Welfare, Estate and Estate Oversight, Headquarters, P&I, Provision and Logistics, and Training with the General Administration department. The Senior SP (Special Unit) will head Special Cell, Crime, Intelligence, Security and Traffic departments. Meanwhile, Virender Singh, who was posted at Mizoram, has been transferred back to Delhi and he shall take over as the Joint Commissioner of Police (Security).
