Delhi govt orders probe

The Tihar jailbreak has now led to an unprecedented situation, in which two parallel probes into the same matter will be conducted by two District Magistrates.

On Tuesday, the Delhi government issued an order naming the District Magistrate (West), BS Jaglan, to be the competent authority in conducting the magisterial inquiry into the <g data-gr-id="11">jail break</g> matter. Meanwhile, on Monday, LG Najeeb Jung had ordered a magisterial probe into the matter by District Magistrate (South West), Ankur Garg. The LG’s <g data-gr-id="13">order ,</g> however, was not withdrawn despite the government issuing an order. A parallel inquiry has also been taken up by the Tihar authorities and they are also to submit their report to the Delhi government and Ministry of Home Affairs.
