Delhi govt can now widen NH-12 link road

The Union cabinet approved transfer of land from state-run NTPC’s Badarpur power plant to Delhi government, a move that would help in widening a link road on NH-12 and ease traffic congestion in south Delhi.
A strip of land measuring 245.35 sqm would be transferred to the Public Works Department, Government of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, an official release said. The land is at present with NTPC’s Badarpur Thermal Power Station. ‘The transfer of land will help in the widening of the Meethapur-Jaithpur Link Road from Mathura Road on National Highway-12, to ease traffic congestion in South Delhi,’ the release said. In this regard, a proposal was submitted to NTPC Chairman and Managing Director by the Public Works Department. The cabinet in its meeting today approval the proposal, said the release. NTPC is the country’s largest power producer.
