Delhi Cabinet condemns rape

The Delhi Cabinet strongly condemned the brutal gangrape of a 23-year-old girl and appealed to the Union Home Ministry to make police more responsive so that women in the city feel secure.  ‘The Cabinet strongly condemned the dastardly incident of the gang rape and assault of a young girl and her friend,’ Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said after the meeting. She also appealed to Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna and the Union Home Ministry to make police more responsive to the security needs of citizens, particularly women.
