DDCA distributes entire IPL ‘prize money’ among its 112 staff

The Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) is all set to disburse the entire IPL prize money of Rs 12.5 lakh among its 112 groundtsaff and chief curator Ankit Datta after getting a go-ahead from Justice Mukul Mudgal, who was its observer during the cash-rich league last season.

The DDCA along with Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) were awarded Rs 25 lakh for having the “Best Ground and Pitch”. DDCA got their share of Rs 12.5 lakh.

“We have received the official approval from Justice Mudgal so that we can divide the entire prize money amount among the groundstaff as well as the general staff, who worked tirelessly during the IPL to make it a success.

 Our young curator Ankit deserves special mention for the effort he has put in and will be rewarded with Rs 1 lakh,” said Siddharth Verma, DDCA Head of Cricket Operations, on Tuesday.

The 11 permanent groundstaff are being rewarded with Rs 40,000 each while 7 temporary groundstaff, who were specially hired will be paid Rs 30,000 each. Two helpers will be getting Rs 20,000 while 92 DDCA general staff will also be paid Rs 5000 each.
