DDA implements file & letter tracking system application

Aiming to bring transparency and to know the status of files and letters without visiting any particular branch, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has informed the implementation of “file and letter tracking system application” in each of its branch. Earlier, in DDA, the receipt and dispatch of files and letters was being done by making entries in respective registers manually and status of movement of the files/letters could be known only by visiting particular branches to which files/letters were sent.

DDA officials said that the system is very useful as one can see the movement of any file/letter by clicking “search” on the application.

The earlier system was cumbersome as diarists and officials of each department were required to make entry of each and every file number and letter number at every point of time wherever the file/letter is sent or received.

“Now, to make this system easier, the system of barcoding of each and every file/letter is being implemented. Through barcoding, it will be very easy for every official to track the file or paper just by scanning the bar code printed on the file or letter with the help of barcoding scanner which is a common instrument and can be seen in various private offices,” said an official.

The work has been awarded to a reputed agency and in next few months barcoding scanners and printers will be installed.
