DCW chief meets Union minister Maneka Gandhi

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati <g data-gr-id="22">Maliwal</g> on Wednesday met Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi and demanded that a special session of Parliament be convened to discuss issues pertaining to women’s safety.

Gandhi welcomed the idea and pledged her support for the cause, <g data-gr-id="18">Maliwal</g> said. “Our agenda of meeting Maneka Gandhi was that a special session of Parliament should be convened to discuss issues pertaining to women safety. 

“She said that she will push the idea ahead and pledged support to the Commission,” <g data-gr-id="19">Maliwal</g> said after the meeting.

The newly appointed DCW chief said that both of them (she and Gandhi) had a holistic discussion on issues faced by women in the national Capital, G <g data-gr-id="17">B road</g>, the national Capital’s largest red light area, among others.
