Dance to inspire

Themed Abhilasha – Aspiration, this year’s festival is dedicated to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Dr. Sonal Mansingh has the honour of being one of the 9 NAVRATAN’s nominated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and has decided to spread the message thought the powerful medium of performing arts.
The festival will witness breathtaking performances by renowned dancers Sanjib Bhattacharya,
Dipjyoti Das and Quincy Kendell Charles who will depict the meaning of Abhilasha and the importance of Swachchta through Manipuri, Sattriya and Kathak dances. The festival will also feature Choral singing by children of Shubhendra and Saskia Rao Foundation and a stellar performance of Sitar and Cello duet by Shri Shubhendra Rao and Smt. Saskia Rao-de Haas.
In addition to this the Jivan–Ratna award will be conferred to Dr. Priyambada Mohanty Hejmadi, the undisputed torch-bearer and scholar of Odissi dance. The festival is supported by the Cultural Ministry, Government of India. The event is open for all.
18 March will witness three solo dance performances by dancers; Manipuri by Sanjib Bhattacharya, Sattriya by Dipjyoti Das and Kathak by Quincy Kendell Charles and 19 March will have choral singing by children of Shubhendra and Saskia Rao Foundation and stellar performance of Sitar and Cello duet by Shubhendra Rao and Saskia Rao-de Haas.
