Dance teacher stabbed to death, two arrested

A 23-year-old dance teacher was allegedly stabbed to death in South-east Delhi’s Jaitpur area on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Gaurav.  Senior police officers of the South-east district said that on Saturday, they arrested two youth in connection with the murder. The accused have been identified as Deepak and Manoj.

According to the police, Gaurav, a dance instructor at the Jalwa Dance Academy in Jaitpur, was stabbed by two of his students with a khukri in full public view.

Police said that the accused came to Gaurav’s house and called him outside to have a chat.

Investigators said that Deepak and Manoj were part of Gaurav’s dance troupe that used to perform at events across the city. Four days back, Deepak and Gaurav had an argument with Gaurav after which Gaurav and his friends reportedly thrashed Deepak. To teach him a lesson, Deepak along with Manoj planned to kill Gaurav.

On Friday, they went to Gaurav’s house in Jaitpur and called him outside on the pretext of solving misunderstanding between them. During the chat, Deepak stabbed Gaurav. When he tried to flee, the duo caught Gaurav and stabbed him multiple times. A local shopkeeper made the PCR call.

Police rushed Gaurav to AIIMS where he succumbed to his injuries on Friday evening. The accused were arrested on Saturday from their house in Molarband Extension in Badarpur, said police. “We have also recovered CCTV of in which the victim can be seen chased by the attackers. The case is under investigation,” said police.
