Dacoity foiled, two caught

Two persons were arrested when they attempted to decamp with valuables from the residence if a sugar trader at Beleghata on Friday afternoon.

Police said four youth posing as mechanic of cable television entered the premises. They went to flat housed in the second floor of one if the buildings in the premises.  They claimed themselves to be mechanic and entered the flat of the businessman Sajjan Agarwal.  The businessman’s family member tried to stop them at the gate. But they forcefully entered inside the flat and took out firearms.  The woman cried for help. Thinking that they will get caught the youth tried to flee after taking some valuables.  Local residents and security personnel rushed and found them fleeing. They caught two of them. But two others managed to flee.  They later handed over Suman Halder and Raju Seikh to the police.
