CYSS flouting poll norms, alleges Ajay Maken

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president, Ajay Maken, has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his party is politicising the Delhi University Students’ Union by publishing pictures of Kejriwal on the posters issued by its student wing, Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS).

A delegation led by Maken comprising DPCC chief spokesperson Sharmistha <g data-gr-id="11">Murkherjee</g>, NSUI national president <g data-gr-id="12">Roji</g> M John, AICC secretary in-charge of NSUI, Girish Chodankar, and Amrita Dhawan on Monday called on the Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh and submitted a memorandum to him alleging that the CYSS was violating the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations regarding the limit on expenses in student union elections.

He further alleged that the CYSS had spent crores of rupees on putting out more than 50 hoardings across the city, on paid sites and bus stops.

“This is unprecedented as no paid sites have ever been used or such enormous amount of money spent on DUSU elections,” Maken said.
