Curb flow of black money in processes: NGO to SIT

Bank lending to the MSME sector in West Bengal more than doubled to Rs 22,000 crore last year, state industry and IT minister Amit Mitra said.

“Bank lending to the MSME sector has increased 108 per cent at Rs 22,000 crore in the last year from Rs 10,200 crore,” Mitra said at an Assocham seminar here on Monday. He said that number of MSME clusters had also increased from 48 to 92 in the last three years. Mitra said that in the last three years after Trinamool Congress came to power, number of MSME units had increased to 35,000 giving direct employment to three lakh and indirect jobs to ten lakh.
