Crime scene revisited with key witness

Ten days after, the Delhi police are still missing pieces of puzzle in the bloody gun battle that killed liquor baro Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep Singh.

The crime branch, which is investigating the case, is awaiting the ballistic report, without which it claims the case cannot be solved.

Meanwhile, one of the key witnesses of the incident, Sachin Tyagi, PSO of Namdhari, was taken to the farmhouse on Tuesday along with the forensic team to recreate the sequence of the crime that took place on 17 November.

According to a source, the crime sequence that has been put forth by Tyagi is contradicting the one narrated by Namdhari.

‘We are planning to take both of them together to the crime scene,’ added the source.

All those who were present during the gun battle, are being questioned one by one. The result though is puzzling the cops as each is telling a different tale. We could cross check a lot of things when we get the ballistic report,’ the source said.

The crime branch is also questioning Hardeep’s aides, Subhodh Tyagi, private security guard, and Kaushal, driver. However, Kaushal only heard the gunshots after dropping Hardeep at the farmhouse, he claims that he had not witnessed the crime.

But his input is being sought as the cops think they might find clues to the mystery if they could ascertain what Hardeep Singh was talking about, enroute Chhatarpur, just before he was killed.

Also, the police is unable to trace Namdhari’s son, driver and two maternal uncles whose involvment in the crime is suspected. There is a possibility that either they all were present in the crime scene or helped Namdhari to tamper the evidences against him.

‘We are trying to locate them. Jahangir, the person who tampered the pistol that has been recovered from Namdhari’s farmhouse in Uttarakhand, has been detained for further investigation,’ the source said.
