Crime Branch, Bihar Police rescue bizmen from Naxals

Two brothers--Suresh (43) and Kapil (27), both Delhi-based businessmen who were kidnapped by Naxalites in Bihar were rescued by Delhi Police Crime Branch in a joint operation with Bihar Police. A ransom of Rs four crore was demanded for their safe release, police said.

Both the brothers are residents of Badarpur area and are labour contractors of stone inlay work in Delhi. Suresh received a call from Bihar and was offered a huge contract for stone works (inlay) for a large construction site in Bihar. He was provided with air tickets also to visit Patna, Bihar.

On October 21, both Suresh and Kapil left for Bihar and at Patna airport they were also provided pick-up service to the accused persons. Few hours later, both informed their family that they had been kidnapped by Naxalites in Bihar and a ransom of Rs four crore was demanded.

During a joint raid, one Ayub Khan was apprehended from Chattarpur area. He is also a labour contractor of stone inlay works. He helped the cops in arresting Ranjit, Pintu and Sanjeet from Delhi and Bihar. On Wednesday, the kidnapped brothers were safely rescued from Kajra Pahari in Bihar. Four pistols and 15 live cartridges were also recovered from accused’s possession.
