Crime Branch arrests gangster Gaurav Jhajera’s aide for murder

The Crime Branch has arrested a 26-year-old criminal who was an active member of Gaurav Jharera gang of South-west district and was wanted in a murder case of a class XII student, over supremacy in the area.

The accused has been identified as Laxman, alias Kalam, who is a resident of Delhi Cantt area. He was arrested from Dwarka area near Sector 10 Metro station on October 14.

According to police, he along with his eight to nine associates including juveniles killed Aakash, a resident of Kirbi Place. On interrogation, Laxman revealed that he joined Gaurav Jharera gang in order to maintain supremacy in the locality and to earn fame and quick money. The gang leader Gaurav Jharera is presently lodged in jail in murder of Kalu Jharera, which was committed during a gang-war in Delhi Cantt area.

On July 17, he along his associates Vishal, Vijay, Deepak, Gaurav, Bunty and four to five juveniles killed Aakash by thrashing him with iron rods near Thimayya Park in Kirbi Place over supremacy in the area. “Some traffic police personnel were also present at the spot during the incident and one accused Gaurav Dancer along with three juveniles was apprehended on the spot with the help of Traffic Police personnel while other managed to flee,” police officials said.
