CPI(M) leaders to cast their votes in favour of Cong

In an irony of fate, former state Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta and Ramala Chakraborty, widow of Subhas Chakraborty will cast their votes for the first time in favour Congress candidate.

Congress candidate Arunabha Ghosh has been pitted against sitting Trinamool Congress MLA Sujit Basu.

Firebrand CPI(M) leader and party’s nominee from Singur Rabin Deb who never takes a glass of water without criticising the Congress, will have to cast his vote in favour of Ghosh like an obedient boy.

Left Front chairman Biman Bose has already casted his vote in favour of Somen Mitra , Congress candidate from Chowringhee Assembly seat on April 21.

Former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee again will have to face similar awkward situation and will have to cast his vote in favour of Krishna Debnath, Congress candidate from Ballygunge Assembly seat.

Soumendranath Bera, CPI(M) nominee from Bally, will have to cast his vote in favour of Ghosh on Monday. He stays at FD block and is a voter of Salt Lake.

In addition to them, thousands of comrades who stay at government housing complexes will have to vote for the Congress.

All the CPI(M) leaders had rose to fame by criticising Congress leaders particularly. Bhattacharjee joined politics as a student of Presidency College along with his colleague Asim Dasgupta. Indira Gandhi was their arch rival.

They called Rajiv Gandhi a thief and in wall graffiti had asked him to disclose the place where he had kept the money which he had received as kickback from the Bofors gun deal.
