CPI(M)-backed goons ransack TMC office in Rajarhat

Police said that some miscreants led by CPI(M) backed goon Jahangir Mollah attacked the party office. They broke the door and entered the party office to ransack all valuables inside. Furniture and a television set was damaged.

A Trinamool Congress worker, Nijamuddin, who resides in the house situated adjacent to the party office came out realising that something wrong was going on outside.  After coming out he found the miscreants damaging the party office.  He had started shouting in order to make people aware about the matter.

The miscreants had started beating him when he restricted them from damaging the party office. They continued beating him until he fell on the road. They finally fled finding people coming out of their houses hearing Nijamuddin’s cry for help.

The incident led to panic in the area and local people staged a demonstration demanding justice.
They demanded immediate arrest of the accused. However, police are yet to arrest anyone in this connection.

Trinamool Congress workers from the area decided to hold rallies to protest against the incident.
Police pickets were posted at the area to avoid deterioration of the law and order situation.
Meanwhile, police have arrested two people in connection with Wednesday’s incident of firing at the house of a Trinamool Congress worker Sushanta Mondal.

Acting on a tip-off the police conducted a raid at some hideouts and arrested Sambhunath Mondal and Anath Mondal. The victim had lodged complaint against them. Police have started questioning the duo to get information about the others involved in the incident.
