Court issues NBW against ex-MLA Rambir Shokeen

A court here today issued a non- bailable warrant (NBW) against former Independent MLA Rambir Shokeen who was evading joining the investigation in the case in which his nephew and gangster Neeraj Bawana was arrested.

Chandra said Shokeen’s relatives have told the police that they do not know about his whereabouts. After hearing the submissions, the court issued the NBW against Shokeen, returnable by April 29.

Meanwhile, gangster Amit Malik, alias Bhura, was produced in custody before the court after being brought from Patiala in Punjab and he was formally arrested by the Special Cell officers in connection with the case. Later, he was remanded to police custody.

Earlier, the Special Cell had said that an AK-47 and an SLR rifle was allegedly recovered from Shokeen’s property in outer Delhi’s Bawana area at the instance of Neeraj Bawana.
