Court directs action against cop for not registering FIR

A court here has directed the Delhi police to take action against its officer for not registering an FIR in a case of forgery and failing to investigate the matter properly.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Rakesh Kumar II directed the DCP (Central) to take
appropriate action against the erring Investigating
Officer (IO).

The order of the court came on a complaint filed by a credit and thrift society against a government employee who had taken loan from it on basis of a forged document.
Complainant’s counsel K K Sharma told the court that the accused had taken loan from the society on the basis of a certificate purportedly issued by his employers but it was later found to be forged.

He, however, repaid the loan amount after a complaint was made against him, the counsel said.
The IO, a sub-inspector, in its status report told the court that there was no wrongful loss to the complainant society.
