Court bars Qureshi from leaving country

A Delhi Court while granting bail to controversial meat exporter Moin Akhtar Qureshi on Monday barred him from leaving the country without prior permission. Qureshi personally appeared before the court, following which the bail was granted by Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Devendra Kumar in connection with a case for suppressing his income amounting to Rs 20 crore. The court also asked him to furnish a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety. Employee of Qureshi’s AMQ Group, Aditya Sharma - summoned along with Qureshi on January 30 - was also granted bail. The court asked them not to go abroad without prior permission. The court fixed the case for April 29 for recording of pre-charge evidence. The complaint was filed by IT department’s deputy director Gaurav Pundir who claimed that Qureshi made false statement over his assets on February 15, 2014.
