Corp Affairs Min issues revised e-forms for cost audit

The government on Friday issued revised forms for companies' statutory filings on <g data-gr-id="31">appointment</g> of cost auditors and for the cost audit reports, while deadlines have also been extended for such submissions.

The new e-forms -- CRA-2 and CRA-4 -- have been notified by the Corporate Affairs Ministry for compliance under the new Companies Act.

Companies would need to use the 'CRA-2' form for intimating the Ministry about <g data-gr-id="28">appointment</g> of cost auditor while 'CRA-4' will be for filing the cost audit report.

The Ministry has amended the Companies {cost records and audit) Rules, the notification issued on Friday said.

In a separate circular, the Ministry said more time is being given to companies to submit the relevant details in the revised forms.

Considering the delay in availability of revised CRA-2 form, the Ministry has extended the deadline for filing the same till June 30. This would be applicable for the financial year starting April 1, 2015.

Besides, the deadline for companies to file 'CRA-4' form has been extended till August 31 for the financial year 2014-15.

"The Ministry has received several representations about the non-availability of the revised form CRA-2... required for filing of notice of appointment of the cost Auditor for the FY 2015-16, although the time limit for filing of the same has either lapsed or will be lapsing," the circular said. Against this backdrop, the Ministry has relaxed the deadlines for submissions.
