Cops use water cannons to disperse Congress workers

The Delhi Police on Wednesday used water cannons to disperse Youth Congress workers, who were staging a protest against the Vyapam scam in the national Capital.

The protesters, who were raising slogans – denouncing the scam, even staged a demonstration atop a police barricade.

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said: "When a Central Minister like Uma Bharti says she is scared, then one can imagine the situation."

Accusing the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government of “toying with dreams” of scores of job aspirants in the state, the protesters sought a Supreme <g data-gr-id="22">Court-monitored</g> probe into the Vyapam scam and deaths of people, allegedly associated with it.

The Indian Youth Congress also urged MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to resign from the post.
“Dreams of job aspirants were toyed with in Madhya Pradesh. Somebody wanted to be a doctor, engineer, management trainee, police constable, etc. Their dreams have been toyed with. Those who are associated with the scam be sent to jail. Modi sarkar and Shivraj Singh Chouhan sarkar fulfil the dreams of only those who have money,” accused Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.

NSUI chief Roji John said the BJP government is “playing with the lives of people”, who were raising their voice against the Vyapam scam. Police had to use water <g data-gr-id="23">canons</g> to disperse Congressmen and detained IYC members including Raja Brar.
