Cops seize more than Rs 15 lakh in raids

In two separate cases, the Gurugram Police have seized a sum of more than Rs 15 lakh.

In the first case, the police seized a sum of Rs 6 lakh from an old toll gate at the National Highway -8. All the notes were in new Rs 2,000 currency notes.

In another case, the police recovered a sum of Rs 9 lakh 33, 600. There was a sum of Rs twenty five thousand in denominations of Rs 50 and the rest were in denominations of Rs 100.

The men held for transporting the cash were first questioned by the Gurugram Police and later handed over to Income Tax officers for further questioning.

After the demonetisation of high value currency notes, the Gurugram Police have arrested a number of people with a huge amounts in new currency notes and also people who indulge in laundering of black money.
