Cops nab African with drugs worth Rs 1.5 crore

A Zimbabwean national was arrested on Thursday for possessing psychotropic substance worth Rs 1.5 crore in international market.
Acting on a tip-off that a passenger Lydia Ndari Murwira, a Zimbabwean national is carrying some psychotropic substances which is prohibited under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances act, 1985, in the form of powder, the officers of IGI Airport customs intercepted her near the immigration counter of departure hall.
The recovered substance in the form of white powder was tested by the customs officer with the help of drug testing kit and it was found positive for ephedrine, a controlled substance under NDPS Act, 1985. The recovered substance in the form of powder weighed 9.90 kg and its value in the international market is Rs 1.50 crore.
