Cops foil burglary attempt

Delhi Police have foiled an attempt of burglary in Outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday but failed to arrest the group of thieves as they attacked the cops, police said.

According to police, a call to the Police Control Room was received at about 2.04 am that thieves have entered into a factory near Ganda Nala in Shahbad area. On the receipt of the call, the PCR staff rushed to the spot within five minutes where they met one Kamlesh, security guard aged about 30 years. “After reaching the spot they found that the rear wall of the factory was broken. They found that some persons were talking inside the factory and immediately the police staff warned them to come outside the premises, but the accused paid no attention and resorted to stone pelting,” Ranvir Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (Operations) said.

He further added that under these circumstances police opened fire in the air to scare them and warned them to surrender. But they managed to escape by breaking the roof of the premises and taking advantage of the darkness. A case under Sections 457, 380, 511 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Shahbad Dairy on the complaint of the security guard.
