Cop taking bribe caught in the act

A head constable of Delhi Police was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act when the vigilance department caught him taking bribe red-handed on Wednesday. The official was identified as Head Constable Surendra Singh, who is posted at RK Puram police station in south district of Delhi Police.

According to a senior official, the complainant in this case had reported the matter through the 1064 anti-corruption helpline. The complainant’s landlady had taken an advance amount of Rs 2 lakh from him as security deposit for a rented accommodation, to be returned when he leaves the premises.

However, when she reported to do so, the tenant (complainant) got an FIR registered against her and the landlady recently got a summon from a court. That is when she allegedly roped in Surendra Singh to threaten the tenant and take his complaint back.
