Cop hurt after being hit by car, two held

A Delhi Police head constable was injured after being hit by <g data-gr-id="22">car</g> allegedly carrying illegal liquor in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar area in the wee hours of Friday.

<g data-gr-id="14">Driver</g> of the car along with another person were arrested and around 29 cartons of liquor, allegedly manufactured at Bahadurgarh Haryana, were recovered, said a police official.

According to the police, the injured head constable Lal Singh was the part of a team which had received <g data-gr-id="19">tip-off</g> about the arrival of <g data-gr-id="20">vehicle</g> carrying illegal liquor. The team was deployed near Patel Chowk. 

When the team flagged down the vehicle, it stopped few metres away. Suddenly the driver sped up the car and hit Lal Singh. However, police managed to stop the vehicle. The accused, identified as Veerpal and Jagpal, were arrested.
