Cop accused of teasing woman forced out of society

The Additional Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore Commissionerate on Thursday asked a woman to file a written complaint against a constable of Kolkata Police who has been allegedly teasing her for quite some time. The police have said that the victim, along with her 9-year-old daughter, used to stay at a quarter in Nodapara of her elder sister who has worked with the police for a brief stint. The victim is a divorcee. The victim mostly stays in the house because of her kidney ailment. Taking advantage of her staying alone in the flat, Sheikh Karim , a constable of Kolkata Police often teased her and even tried to molest her after she refused to talk to him. Local people in February caught hold of Karim and threatened him that the matter would be reported to the higher authority. He ignored their compliant. Following the pressure from the local people, he was later forced to leave his quarter.
