Contract killers held for murdering man who failed to pay Rs 5 cr to moneylenders

Delhi Police arrested two contract killers for stabbing to death a 39-year-old garment trader near his house in East Delhi’s Shakarpur area on September 18. According to the police, Nabab Ali and Nakul were hired by financers who wanted to eliminate Subhash Yadav, the victim as he owed them Rs 5 crore. Sources said that police are searching for the financers who gave the accused the contract to kill Yadav. More arrests will be made, said police on Friday.

Police said that the accused contract killers, Nabab Ali was arrested from Mayur Vihar and Nakul was arrested from Geeta Colony. Investigators said that the duo killers revealed that they got a contract of Rs 2 lakh from the lenders and financers to murder Subhash Yadav.

Sources said that the Ali and Nakul are allegedly noted criminals and have been previously involved in several criminal cases. At around 10.30 pm, on September 18, police got a call from Walia Nursing Home regarding a garment trader who had been brought dead.

Sources said that during the course of investigation, cops found that the deceased owed about Rs 5 crore to his lenders.

Due to loss in his business, he was not able to return the money and was avoiding their phone calls. He was also reportedly planning to shift to Bangalore. Police said that three different teams were formed to solve the case and finally, the duo were nabbed along with one black scooty, which was stolen from Mandawali area, which was used in the crime.
