Constable accused of raping girl for three years

Coming close on the heels of an ASI raping his friend’s domestic help, a Delhi Police constable has now been accused of raping a woman several times over the past three years.

The complainant, a 24-year-old girl, has alleged that Manish, 25, first raped her three years ago and made an MMS of the act. Threatening to make the video clip public, he then raped her several times, police said.

An FIR has been registered against the accused, posted with the 7th Battalion of Delhi Police, at Tilak Marg police station. Police said the accused has produced a marriage certificate, suggesting that the girl and the constable are a couple. If the marriage certificate is found to be genuine, legal opinion will be sought on the FIR registered by the girl, the officer said.

“We are establishing the authenticity of the marriage certificate before proceeding further,” said a police officer.

The Ghaziabad-based girl in her complaint said she had met the accused three years ago. After few more meetings, the accused took her to his flat near Tilak Bridge and raped her there after offering her a sedative-laced drink.

She alleged that the accused made a video of the act and blackmailed her using it.

When she threatened to expose him, the accused made a proposal of marriage and invited her to Delhi to hand over the video clip. When the girl met him, the accused allegedly raped her again, beat her and threatened to frame her in a false case.

Later, the girl narrated the whole incident to her family and lodged a complaint with Tilak Marg police station, where an FIR of rape was registered last week. An Assistant Sub-Inspector had last Thursday allegedly sexually assaulted his friend’s domestic help, 23, under the influence of alcohol at the latter’s house.
