Congress defeat never so certain, BJP grateful to PM, Sonia: Advani

Recently, Advani grab the attention of national media and other political parties after he expressed his displeasure over denial of Lok Sabha ticket from Bhopal. He wanted to contest from Bhopal but he was given the Gandhinagar seat.

After the recent resentment with the party leaders, now it seems that Advani is back in action — forgetting old issues — to help the party in making the NDA government. In his statement on Tuesday, Advani said, ‘Following carefully the performance of the Sonia- Manmohan Singh government since 2004, I have been telling colleagues that we should be grateful to the UPA duo for working systematically and steadfastly to ensure that in 2014, once again a BJP-led government comes into power.’

He said, ‘No earlier government has presided over so many scams and scandals as the UPA rule has and corruption has become the dominant characteristic of this government. People are eagerly looking forward to throw it out at the earliest. I have participated in all General Elections since 1952. In none of the fifteen elections held till on Tuesday, Congress’s defeat seemed as certain as it does this time.’

Without naming party Prime Ministerial candidates Narendra Modi and its president Rajnath Singh, he said, ‘Deendayal Upadhyaya, Nanaji Deshmukh, Atal Behari Vajpayee and Kushabhau Thakre are the role models for the whole party to emulate.’

On the context of Vajpayee, he said, ‘With such cardinal achievements to his credit he never sensed in him even a trace of ego or arrogance. It is therefore that while talking about the balance sheet of all Prime Ministers since 1947, I myself can say that he (Vajpayee) was by far the most outstanding of all.’
