‘Congress, BJP working for their vested political interests’

Addressing an election rally at Budhana, about 30 kms from Muazaffarnagar district headquarters, in support of Samajwadi Party candidate from Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha seat going to polls on April 10 next, he said both the parties always tried a create a rift between the two communities.

‘It is very easy to become communal but extremely tough to maintain secular credentials which SP had done over the years,’ the UP CM said claiming no other party sympathized with the minorities as his party did.

Singh blamed Bharatiya Janata Party for instigating communal riots in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli last year.’BJP is sole responsible for communal disharmony in Muzaffarnagar riots,’ he said.

Trying to console the riot-hit people of the region, he said the state government was deeply hurt what happened there.Defending the action of his government, he said the army was deployed at the right time and prevented the riots in urban areas but the riots spread to rural areas which was unfortunate.

Moreover,Yadav assured that the perpetrators of the riots would never be spared and the state government was firm to prevent repeat of such incidents. Coming down heavily on the Gujarat chief minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidates Narendra Modi, the UP CM said he was presenting the wrong picture of the development. In fact, the BJP was ahead in propaganda while SP was the one who believed in thework,he pointed out.

He lambasted Modi for terming Gujarat as the highest producer of milk saying everyone knew that Uttar Pradesh was the first in milk production in the country. It was the conducive atmosphere of UP which prompted AMUL, the milk products giant of Gujarat, to come to UP.

‘AMUL is here not after taking permission of Modi but it has come to make business fortunes which is possble in Uttar Pradesh only,’ he claimed.

He expressed his displeasure over Modi’s public statement about procuring lions from Gujarat for lion safari in the state.’Let me tell you that the lions of Gujarat will be caged in the ravines of Chambal and will not be allowed to roam free,’ he stated in lighter vein while making it clear that Gujarat wasgiven wolves from UP in exchange which according to him was nevermentioned by the Gujarat CM.
