Cong ready for show of strength in Lucknow today

Congress is gearing up for a massive show of strength in Lucknow on Friday when party vice president Rahul Gandhi’s Kisan Yatra will reach here. The first phase of the Kisan Yatra, which started from Deoria on September 6, will end in the constituency of Rajnath Singh on Thursday.

Gandhi hit back at BJP on issue of Kisan Budget claiming there is trust deficit between farmers and BJP led NDA government in center. Reiterating his demand for Kisan Budget, Gandhi scion said, “Kisan Budget is required now because farmers used to trust UPA government but they don’t trust NDA. They feel their money is being siphoned off to industrialists by the central government. Kisan Budget is needed so that farmers’ should know what the government plans to do for them.”

Rahul will start day 16 of his yatra from Congress bastion Raebareli, which also happens to be the constituency of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The party has already painted Uttar Pradesh’s capital in its hues where party VP will hold a 6.1 km long road show from Parivartan chowk to Akbari gate. He will also visit St Joseph’s Cathedral and Nadwa Madarsa.
