Cong is playing politics: north Delhi Mayor

North Delhi Mayor Mira Aggarwal has accused that the Congress  is playing politics by protesting against the hike in parking charges.

‘Delhi government through various committees and Lieutenant Governor pressurise us to increase parking charges. In various official communications and meetings they were hell bent on making the local civic bodies hike parking charges contending that it would demoralise private car users and promote the use public transport system. But their leaders in the corporation oppose the proposal of the commissioner to increase the parking charges in the city. They never play a role of responsible opposition in municipal corporations,’ said Aggarwal to Millennium Post.

She also clarified that BJP will not put any extra burden on citizens in Delhi.

The mayor was reacting to the demand of leader of Opposition, Mukesh Goel, to reject the proposed increase of parking charges in the budget.

Leaders of Opposition in south and east Delhi, belonging to Congress,  have already thumbed down the tax proposals of the respective commissioners.
