Cong gears up for pro-FDI rally

The Indian National Congress party has begun its preparation for the rally at Ramlila Maidan, slated for 4 November, to garner public support in favour of FDI.

Parliamentary Secretary to the CM, CLP spokesperson and senior MLA Mukesh Sharma became the first Congress legislator in Delhi to launch a mass contact programme to garner public support in favour of the FDI. On Sunday, he exhorted people to join in lakhs at Ramlila Maidan.

Sharma has been addressing a number of rallies in this regard, and in one of the rallies at Vipin Garden Colony, he lambasted the BJP for taking anti-people stand on FDI.

‘Nobody is surprised to take note of this, as the BJP has always been batting for the hoarders and black marketers. It has nothing to do with the issues of the poor and downtrodden,’ said Sharma.

Sharma added that he has been contacting common men as per instructions of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who is in favour of implementing FDI in Delhi at the earliest.

The MLA also criticised BJP for providing fertile ground to Arvind Kejriwal to initiate an agitation on a non-issue.
