Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thakre on Thursday denied the charge that his party was involved in the 'conspiracy' to attack one of the vehicles in Anna Hazare's convoy in Nagpur yesterday.
Hazare's aide Suresh Pathare yesterday alleged that a Youth Congress worker from Satara was involved in stone pelting one of the vehicles of the activist's convoy parked at the venue of Hazare's public meeting held in Nagpur yesterday.
'We have nothing against Hazare's public meetings. Let police provide him all security. But, his associates distribute objectionable pamphlets about our leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. They are published in Delhi. Let Anna first clarify who is behind this conspiracy,' Thakre told reporters.
He said Hazare should clear air on why he was allowing such objectionable pamphlets to be distributed at his public meetings.
Thakre alleged that the provocative handbills are distributed wherever Hazare is travelling.
'Our workers will not tolerate this and if such activities continue, they (Team Anna) will be given a fitting reply,' he added.
Defending the Youth Congress workers' protests held in Nagpur against   Hazare,Maharashtra Employment Guarantee Scheme Minister Nitin Raut said 'I support yesterday's attack on Hazare. Hazare's aide Suresh Pathare had said a Youth Congress worker from Satara was involved in pelting with stones one of the vehicles of the Gandhian's convoy in Nagpur.
