Cong ‘conspiracy’ behind petition in da case: Maya

BSP supremo Mayawati on Thursday accused Congress of a “conspiracy”, a day after the Supreme Court agreed to hear a petition seeking registration of a fresh FIR against her in a disproportionate assets case.

“As part of a conspiracy, Congress party through its Dalit worker Kamlesh Verma, who had contested Lok Sabha election unsuccessfully in the past from Madhya Pradesh, has got a new petition filed for a fresh hearing in the case,” she said. “In 2003, under a political conspiracy, I was wrongly framed in the disproportionate assets case by CBI under the garb of Taj Corridor case,” she said, adding that she was forced to move the SC as the matter was kept pending after UPA government came to power in 2004.
