Computer literacy drive by NTPC’s Korba station

The 2600-MW power station of NTPC located at Korba in the state of Chhattisgarh has launched a 90-day marathon programme to spread computer literacy among the schools located in its vicity. To begin with, the programme was kickstarted at Government Higher Secondary School, Jamnipali here on Monday.

As part of the programme, NTPC Korba aims to empower over 200 students of the school with all basics of computer skills including operating MS Office. The station has roped in the services of Bilaspur-based coaching institute, Career Point, for this purpose. The institute has appointed faculty members who will impart both theoretical as well as practical training on computer skills to the students during the three-month-long training programme. Inaugurating the programme, P K Nayak, regional labour commissioner, Raipur lauded the initiatives of the company in reaching out to the various sections of the society.  Once successful, the station aims to extend the facility to other schools.
