Complaint lodged against headmaster for molestation

A complaint has been lodged at a police station in Siliguri against a teacher who had allegedly molested a minor girl. The victim was a student of Siliguri NJP Girls High School. The victim’s family members complained that the accused, the head master had allegedly molested the Class III student. The incident triggered tension in the school after the victim informed the matter to her family members who in turn rushed to the school. They demanded an explanation from the accused headmaster.

An altercation had broken out between the victim’s relatives and the headmaster, Chottu Hansda. The quarrel led to a scuffle. The family members of the girl attacked the head master. Within few minutes, the accused teacher retaliated and thrashed the mother of the victim. After being informed, police reached the school and arrested the headmaster on the basis of the complaint of the victim’s relatives.

The accused, however, claimed that he was innocent and had been framed by the girl’s family members. The headmaster said that the victim had made false claims to malign him as she failed to give lessons to the accused. Police have started a probe.
