Commotion breaks out at Burdwan College

Chaos broke out on Saturday at the Burdwan Raj College after around 35 non-teaching staff of the college lodged a complaint in the local police station alleging that former principal of the college used his influence over the selection of the new principal.

The staff members of the college registered complaint in the police station against four persons including the former principal of the college.

Altogether four names emerged as the contender for the post of principal on the basis of their experience but the governing body members chose to select one of the four applicants over which a
quarrel broke out between the two groups.

The incident triggered tension at the college. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
