British rock band Coldplay is set to headline the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. The group consisting of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion will make its halftime show debut at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 7, said The Hollywood Reporter.
The Super Bowl will be a notable tour stop on the band’s forthcoming world tour. The NFL took to Twitter to announce the big news.
“Viva! It’s official: @Coldplay will be performing at the @Pepsi @SuperBowl 50 Halftime Show! #PepsiHalftime,” they wrote along with a picture of the band.
Coldplay joins the likes of its collaborator Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, all of whom have headlined previous half-time shows.
