Cold Thursday, Friday to be warmer

A cold day was recorded in Delhi Thursday with the maximum temperature dipping four notches below average to settle at 16.6 degree Celsius. Friday is expected to be slightly warmer. Shallow fog was recorded in Thursday morning, but no flights were cancelled due to it. Visibility was 500 metre at 8.30 am, the India Meteorological Department said, adding it is likely to dip to 400 metre at 11.30 pm. The sky remained partly cloudy, and minimum temperature was two notches above average at 9.2 degree Celsius. Friday is expected to be clear, with maximum and minimum temperature likely to be around 18 and nine degree Celsius.
OPERATIONS NORMAL AT IGI
Flight operations remained normal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for the second consecutive day even as the airport witnessed moderate fog.
 ‘Flight operations were normal as there were no disruptions due to moderate fog witnessed in the morning.There were no diversions of flights, though there were some cancellations and delays due to operational reasons,’ airport sources said. The visibility at the runway did not dip below 1100 metres on all three runways through the night when airport witnessed moderate fog. Delhi airport had witnessed dense fog for three consecutive days earlier this week, leading to delays in schedule of over 300 flights.
