Cold, fog persist in UP; Najibabad coldest at 3.20 C

Cold conditions intensified in Uttar Pradesh with cloudy skies and thick blanket of fog at several places, even as Najibabad recorded the lowest temperature at 3.2 degree Celsius in the state.

Most places in the state experienced dense to very dense fog, with the state capital witnessing cloudy skies throughout the day, MeT department said.

Night temperatures fell in Varanasi, Allahabad and Moradabad divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.

The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 3.2 degrees Celsius in Najibabad (Bijnore).

MeT department has forecast that dense to very dense fog would occur at a few places and the cold conditions would prevail.

However, it was a sunny Saturday in the national capital after a foggy start, which affected train
movement, while the maximum temperature settled four notches below the season’s average at 18.3 degrees Celsius.
