Coal Secy Anil Swarup hails CCL for powering its way to high growth rates

Central Coalfields Limited on Monday organised a mega felicitation ceremony (Shram Samman Samaroh) 2015-16 at Vichar Manch, CCL Darbhanga House, here. Coal Secretary Anil Swarup was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. 

In his address, Anil Swarup said that CCL is treading on the path of growth under the able leadership of Chairman-cum-Managing Director Gopal Singh. He said that growth, which the company has achieved in recent years, would have not been possible without “passion” and “energy,” which is required for any good work. He said that CMD Singh not only have this passion but he has been successfully able to convey this to the employees. He acknowledged this energy among the employees present in the packed hall. The Secretary underscored the importance of good leadership in any organisation for its successful functioning. He said that it is very important to have faith in the abilities of our co-colleagues and juniors. He appreciated the fact that CCL has been able to develop this quality among its employees. 

Speaking on this occasion, Gopal Singh welcomed Coal Secretary Anil Swarup and Ministry of Coal Advisor D N Prasad on behalf of CCL extended families. Singh gave a detailed elaboration of unprecedented growth in coal production, coal dispatch, OB removal and various welfare activities. 

He said that CCL till 2012-13 was facing stagnant growth and production of 50 mt was distant dream. But in FY 2013-14 CCL first time crossed the target of 50 mt of coal production, after which the company has kept the momentum of growth. 

In continuation to the past two year’s growth trend, CCL has not only achieved the double digit growth but in fact has produced (61.35 mt) more than its target (60.6 mt). He said that one of the major factors behind this success story has been “Kayakalp Model of Governance”; transparency, ethics, philanthropy, discipline, team building etc., are different pillars of this model. CMD stated that there has been continuous guidance, direction and support from the Coal Secretary which has yielded positive unprecedented result. 

On this occasion Anil Swarup presented awards to employees of CCL for their outstanding performance in 17 different categories such as growth in coal production, Over Burden Removal, Capacity utilisation, availability etc. The best project award in coal production went to Ashoka O/C and best area in coal production went to Magadh Amrapali.

Advisor Ministry of Coal D N Prasad, Area GMs of CCL, HODs from CCL headquarters and CCL employees were present to grace the occasion.
