CM to inaugurate 3 loops of Barapullah flyover on Sunday

The Public Works Department (PWD) of Delhi government is all set to open three loops on the Barapullah elevated road (phase-II extension). These loops will be inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday, informed PWD Minister Satyendra Jain here on Thursday.

Opening of these loops will facilitate traffic coming from Ashram/DND flyway side and heading towards JLN Stadium or INA without taking U-turn at Sarai Kale Khan, resulting to decongestion at junction, said Jain.

The first loop ramp having length of 400 metre, will reduce the travelling distance by 2.5 km for the traffic coming from Noida (DND side) and Ashram towards JLN Stadium. It will further decongest the Ring Road stretch from Gurudwara Bala Sahib to Sarai Kale Khan.

Similarly, the second loop ramp measuring 460 metre will facilitate the buses going inside the ISBT Sarai Kale Khan, as these buses will go directly in the bus stand via the second loop. It would also decongest the Ring Road stretch near Sarai Kale Khan.

“This loop is for traffic coming from INA side will go directly to CGO Complex, Pragati Vihar via Lala Lajpat Rai Marg,” Jain noted.

Meanwhile, the third loop ramp at Jungpura will facilitate the traffic coming INA or JLN Stadium side and going towards CGO Complex or ITO. The length of this ramp is 320 meter.

The overall cost of the project is Rs 66 crore.
