CM takes stock of unsafe Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday convened a high level meeting, which was attended by Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, chairperson of Delhi Womens Commission Barkha Singh, vice -chancellor of Delhi university Dinesh Singh and other cabinet ministers to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation.

‘We are making a concrete proposal to tackle such incidents. Not only the law but socially also we have to improvise the situation. We have discussed a lot of things and we will come out with a complete plan very soon. It is time to convert this anger, which has emerged after the incident in the country, to a fruitful strategy against such cases’ Dikshit told reporters after the meeting.

The meeting, which started late in the evening, discussed several safety measures for women in the city and asked suggestions from everyone regarding how to make the national capital safer. According to sources, police commissioner was requested to deal severely with the criminals and make police as people friendly as as possible.

Transport commissioner was also asked to check the private school buses regarding tainted glasses, the driver’s license and following of proper guidelines to prevent these heinous crime incidents in future.

Meanwhile, after the meeting CM went to Safdarjung hospital, along with education minister Kiran Walia, and visited the girl.
