CM Raman reviews law and order situation with top cops

The meeting took place at the Police Headquarters. CM said that citizens should have confidence in the security apparatus of the State, there should be fear in the hearts of criminals and people should look up to police for their safety. Dr. Raman Singh said that Chhattisgarh police is maintaining law and order reasonably well with Naxalites’ violence under control but still there is room for improvement.

Chief Minister Singh added that State had prepared a very stringent law to curb illegal Chit Fund companies in 2015 and it should be implemented at any cost to protect the innocent investors. He stressed upon Smart Policing. He said that 36-point guidelines had been prepared during the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with Director Generals of Police at Kutch in December. Chief Minister instructed the top police officers to be humane in their approach towards complainants and strict towards the criminals. There was a detailed presentation of the Smart Policing. Stress should be laid on modernity, alertness, accountability, faith and responsibility.

Singh came down heavily on human trafficking and called upon the officers to implement the law in letter and spirit. The Superintendent of Raipur Police gave a detailed presentation on the steps taken to curb human trafficking. People’s co-operation is also being taken in this regard. Balod Superintendent of Police gave presentation of the steps being taken to curb chit fund companies. 

State Home MinisterRamsevak Paikra, Home Department Parliamentary Secretary Labchand Bafna, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Director General of Police A N Upadhyaya, Home Department Principal Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Aman Kumar Singh, Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, Public Relations Department Secretary Santosh Misra and top officers of Police Department were present at the meeting.
